Christian rallies in semifinals and finals to claim FCA Invitational
Championship
MILLINGTON, TN –
Cornerstone Christian, of San Antonio, TX, trailed 5-2 through two innings
in the semifinal and 5-1 through two innings in the championship and
rallied to defeat Briarcrest 6-5 in the first game and Christian Brothers
8-6 in the finals. With the wins, CC claimed the title in the Second
Annual FCA Invitational.
Tournament MVP Luis Rodriguez came in to pitch in relief in both games and
picked up both wins. In total, Rodriguez tossed seven scoreless innings
and allowed only six hits, while striking out twelve.
Christian Brothers finished in the runner-up spot for the second
consecutive year.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes National Invitational kicks off in
Millington, Cordova
MILLINGTON, TN – Ten teams from three states begin
their quest for the FCA title today as the national invitational
tournament begins today at USA Stadium in Millington and St. Benedict
Academy in Cordova. Four games will be played in the tournament today with
eight games on Thursday and Friday.
The top two teams from each of the two pools will advance to the
semifinals on Saturday morning, followed by the championship at 1:00 p.m.
Game ticket prices are $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Tournament
passes are $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for children.
