USA Stadium - Millington,
Tennessee
2010 marks a new
beginning for historical USA Stadium under the direction of the newly-formed
Millington Sports Authority. After the passing of owner and president W. S.
"Babe" Howard, the city of Millington took over the ownership of the stadium
and formed a 20-member board of directors to oversee its activities. The
plan is to increase the activity at the stadium and continue the great
tradition of quality baseball in Millington.
USA Stadium was the home for USA Baseball from 1986
through 1996 and hosted over 300 players who played Major League Baseball.
Eighteen foreign countries have sent their national teams to Millington to
play and 26 national championships have been decided at USA Stadium. More
than 40,000 different college, high school, foreign, and Olympic players
have played in Millington.
